These implementations were all functionally identical. The replacement
has an extra feature of returning the index where the value was found,
currently unused.
Clean up some typos and differences. Most have been normalized to
whatever form of the name occurred in the largest number of scripts.

* fixed a bug in nse_main that would fail creating scripts.db when a script
